Bad Bridget
Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, this project is led by Leanne McCormick (Ulster University) and Elaine Farrell (Queen’s University Belfast).
The project focused on the criminal and deviant Irish girls and women in Boston, New York and Toronto from 1838 to 1918.
In 2021, the project was awarded an AHRC Follow-on Funding for a collaboration with National Museums NI to set up an exhibition at the Ulster American Folk Park which explores the Bad Bridget themes. The exhibition opened in April 2022 and will remain in situ for 2 years.
