Our Museums

about us

National Museums NI preserves, protects and promotes Northern Ireland's cultural assets, knowledge and collective memory. We create shared and trusted spaces to explore who we are, where we have come from, and where we might we be going.

As a public institution, we are passionate about our museums and collections playing an important and valuable role at the heart of society. We work in partnership with the public to share stories and care for and present a vast range of objects bringing important cultural, educational, social and scientific ideas to life. We unite the past, present and future, enhance health and well-being, and make places more attractive to live in, work and visit; creating a positive economic impact.

We believe that our museums can set an example in adapting to change, encouraging debate, promoting reconciliation and supporting diversity and sustainability.
